2. نستخدم (the) مع اسماء الدول المكونة من عدة ولايات.

3. نستخدم the مع أسماء أنهار وبحار ومحيطات وسلاسل جبلية ومجموعات الجزر والصحارى والفنادق والمتاحف.

ملاحظة: لا تكتب (a,an,the) أمام اسماء الدول المنفردة أو المدن أو القارات أو الشوارع أو البحيرات أو قمة الجبل.
